Wintermoon

Years ago I read a great novel by Dean Koontz, called Wintermoon. Don't really rememb where the book was about, because it seriously is more than twenty years since I finished it. The one thing I did remember was a certain sentence that made such a big impression on me that I actually printed and framed it back in the day.
Last week I realized this and downloaded the E-book, just for fun, to maybe read the story again. First thing I did though was try to find the particular sentence. Because an e-book is digital it has an easy search function, so I typed the word 'dream', knowing this was a part of the sentence. Low and behold I found it right away!
So being a designer and a lover of good books I combined the two and made the next image. Very happy about the end result I did print it and framed it ofcourse. So I hope it inspires you, like it did inspire me.

Vintage blue

Funny how everyday occurrences can inspire us to get creative.
We made some changes in our kitchen. Replacing the microwave for a proper oven, created some challenges with storage. Or to say it short , the oven was to big to place in the same cupboard as the microwave.
Thinking outside the box we created a whole new cabinet, with shelves above it. Problem solved. My husband then thought it was a good idea to paint the wall a different colour. Yes, great idea and after some searching on my beloved Pinterest, we decide to go blue. But not any old blue, it had t be blue with a twist.
In our local hardware store we stumbled upon chalk paint, in the colour Vintage Blue. Soft, but not pastel and using chalk paint makes for a very mat finish. I hate shiny surfaces, so this is perfect!

This beautiful colour inspired me to make this moodboard. Combining it with wood and black, so it matches the colours in our kitchen. Pretty pleased with the result. Hope my kitchen will look equally nice.

Strolling along the Provence

Today I decided to share a photograph from our recent holiday to the south of France. We visited the Provence. In my opinion the most wonderful county of France! The light there is truly amazing. The people are friendly and the general atmosphere is magical. No wonder artists choose this place to inspire them. Vincent van Gogh lived in the lovely village of Arles, He was so captivated by the light that he made several paintings.

This photograph  shows my husband and daughter strolling around the lovely village of Correns. I was walking behind them and I wanted to capture them together in the beautiful light.
This is my absolute favorite photograph of that particular holiday, although I made a lot of pictures. The Provence does that to you, it has a remarkable effect on your senses which made me fall in love with this place. We are absolutely going back there next year. Can't wait to make loads of photographs!

So what do you think of this image? I would love to here your opinion. Would you have done something different? Let me know in the comments, I always want to learn and here someone else's vieuw.

Macro photography

I have an incredible admiration for macro photography. The different gradients of sharpness just have me almost mesmerized. That is going to be my goal for 2017, mastering the perfect macro!
Flowers have a beauty all of their own, and photographing them in this way brings out the awesome symmetry of nature.

I always like to work with these type of images, as a background for an inspirational quote or as a part of a collage. In a way I like to collect them, you never know when they might come in handy.
This particular image I found on a website for free images, believe it or not. They actually exist! In the next couple of weeks I will make some lovely projects using this image. It really inspires me to get creative.
